Thursdays (Oct. 7, Oct. 14, Oct. 21 Nov. 4, Nov. 11, Nov. 18 Dec. 2, Dec. 9, and Dec. 16):

2:30 pm to 5:00 pm (open play), 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm (pickleball clinics)

Thursdays (all other dates): 2:30 pm to 10:00 pm (open play)

Sundays: 2:30 pm to 9:30 pm (open play)

The pickleball courts at Bethesda Park are currently the most popular courts in Durham among local pickleball players.

Piney Wood Park

Pickleball Hours:

All Days: Dawn to dusk (open play)

Wednesdays: "King of the Courts" starting at 5:30 pm (for advanced beginner and intermediate players)

These are the only dedicated pickleball courts in Durham. The courts are frequented by beginner and intermediate players. These courts have a few cracks and rough patches, but they are playable. The site used to be tennis courts but will soon be completely renovated into 14 brand new dedicated pickleball courts! Bathrooms are located near the courts.

Walltown Park Recreation Center

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 12:30 am to 3:00 pm (open play)

Saturdays: 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm (open play)

These are the most popular indoor pickleball courts in Durham. There is a fee to play. Masks are required! Wednesdays are best for noncompetitive play.

Method Road Courts in Raleigh - dawn to 9 pm, 6 courts, open play. Closing Sept 27 for resurfacing.

The Orange County SportsPlex in Hillsborough - air conditioned and indoors - 10 am - 1 pm weekdays and 1 pm - 5 pm weekends.You must wear a mask while playing.

Netsports has indoor courts you can rent for $25/hour or $40/2 hours. You must wear a mask in the lobby but not while playing. You must call in advance to reserve a court 919-319-9910. Reservations are easy to get during the day, harder after 5 pm, but you can call days or weeks in advance.

Lake Lynn - must wear masks while playing - Monday - Friday 11 am - 2 pm and 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Briar Creek Community Center - must wear masks while playing - Sunday and Monday 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Optimist - must wear masks while playing -10:45 am - 4:45 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays
